What is a reasonable tip for your boat captain and dive master? Do you tip every dive, every day or at the end of your stay?

The industry standard is 10% of the cost of the diving. Some places are trying to promote higher amounts, notably a few operators in Cozumel and live aboard boats. FWIW, Brits and especially Australians, either do not tip, or give very little. Some of the shops have a tip box where you could tip anonymously. The money is divided up.

Oh by the way I'll be at FIBR March 28 through April 6 if anyone needs a dive buddy. My friend who was going with me can't go, seems there would be a divorce soon following his return.

Security is another question, where do you put your valuables when you're diving or wandering around? I'd sure hate to find myself without any cash or credit cards.

FIBR has safe deposit boxes available for a nominal fee. We always get one, not because we feel that our things would be unsafe in our room, but because we don't like to take chances with our passports, etc. It's easier to leave everything in the safe deposit box and forget about it while you're having a great time diving!
