I've scanned most of the keepers from this trip and you'll find them in the Roatan 2001 album. If anyone is curious about CoCo View resort, I've entered some topside photos showing the dock, boats, gear areas, and a bit of the scenery.

Hope you enjoy them...

Dee,
Your pictures are fantastic. How did you ever capture that Octopus? Perfect centering. Was that taken at night?
I also loved all the sea horse pics. Giddy up girl!
You're great behind the camera. Thanks for sharing.

Dee--Great photos--very different than the ones you took in 2000. I, too, loved the octopus--and the sea horses! Looks the octopus was a night photo...have you ever been able to capture the brilliant colors that they flash at night? I remember one that went from Osha Orange to Gecko Green to Lemon Yellow once--did not have the camera, though, and have never seen such a light show since.

I am not yet able to send photos over the net, but want to set up my computer to do so. What system--software and hardware--do you use?

The octopus photo was taken during the day but it was very cloudy that day and we were at about 85 ft. This octo acted different than any I've seen. He let me get pretty close, flashing colors and patterns at me. Just as I was about to take the photo, he flared up in that defensive position... almost standing on edge to look bigger.

I'm not sure about the system question. I'm running Windows 98. I use a HP3200 scanner and PhotoDeluxe software for photo manipulations...although I seldom do more than crop the photos abit to straighten a crooked scan. Once saved to my hard drive, I upload the photos into PhotoPoint.

Great shots...
Just fine!

DEE,

Thanks for sharing those photos. I really enjoyed looking at them....Sorta gives other divers motivation to keep diving when you see pictures like these. We are some of the elite to actually go underwater and seek natures beauty that you have captured so well. Good Work and I look forward to seeing more photos! :thumb: :thumb:
