The diving community has lost one of it's finest instructors and avid promoters of the sport. Jim Yaeger passed Wed evening 5/20/2015 after a fight with lung cancer. Those who knew him or dove with him will never forget his smile or never ending instructing right up until the end. He spent many hours here on SB, and always said the information here was never ending. He had dove all over the world and the stories will never be forgotten by those that heard them. He inspired many to try scuba and also helped stem the fears that some have of the water. Safe Diving my friend and calm waters to sail upon. You will be missed by many.

Well said Tony. I got to know Jim through you and SB, and he was one of the kindest and caring folk I have ever met. A smile that never stopped, and a genuine care for everyone. An ambassador of the sport, and a life model of how to live. I doubt anyone who met him has a different take. Our times together were infrequent, but always left me in better spirits.

Peace my friend......

Damn, I am very sorry to hear this, but glad he is no longer suffering. Fly high.
