As someone who is relatively new to diving ('04), my experience is more limited, but I hope not typical! I want to use this thread as a way for Richmond divers to get the word out about where to go and where not to go(!).

We started diving out of Lynnhaven DC, so mostly went there. But when it came to service and local shopping we opted for the Scuba Center on Patterson. We took the regs in and what do you know - a reg that worked got serviced and then didn't work. Not good for diving. And this was after they had called me to tell me that one computer didn't work and needed to be sent to Uwatec. Uwatec said nothing was wrong with it and sent it back, Scuba Center had the nerve to charge ME for the shipping :11: !

As for the reg I looked online and took it to Atlantis Divers on Robious (in the building that used to be Dive Expressions and still bears the name). I also took my tanks in to be inspected and filled. I was very impressed with the facility and the staff; they are pros who take pride in doing it well and doing it right the first time. They also serve the emergency dive community in Richmond and VA.

So that is my story, hopefully it will save others some trouble. From the reaction I got when I told Atlantis where I had serviced my reg (no surprise shown) I get the distinct impression that this was not new for them to hear. Anyone else??
