I'm a Fish!
That doesn't make sense. It says this is a WWII wreck but that it was sunk by U87...which was sunk in 1917(WWI)...???

edit:
U-87 WRECK

...a typo; or more likely, a reporter of the ilk that describes a diver's scuba cylinder as an " oxygen bottle."

I'm gonna play wait n' see while I polish up my resume' for a spot in the chamber!

Best,
DSD

Richest old wreck I ever found was at a Blackjack table in Las Vegas back in 1971. Her buck$ made up for her looks though.

Man! wouldn't find THAT just make you jump up and down and clap your hands together .....

I have a number of problems with this.

1) In June 1942 U87 operated between Boston and Halifax and was damaged by an air attack prior to heading back. She never got that far south.
2) Why was such a cargo on a tramp steamer. These cargos would have been on fast passenger steamers or a warship.
3) Why was such a cargo off of Guyana? The convoys from Gibraltar would have headed further North. Only convoys from the Cape or Freetown would have been in the area heading for Trinidad.

Me smells some dead fish here.
