I just found about about this show opening at the I-MAX here in Indy so keep an eye out for it in your area. It is opening April 11th.

Whats this all about? Is this brand new or has IMAX run this before?

or will it be in regular theatres as well?

Its not clear from the web page.

Not sure how they are going to do it. I am looking forward to it though. I am sure it will be in regular theaters eventually but who is to say. If I hear more I will post.. From what I gather it is brand new. They are going to go deeper into the wreck than ever before IN 3-D

web site has nothing on this as of yet.

The Disney site is silent on where its being released as of yet.

I bet this shows up in both formats. It would be VERY cool to see it in Imax - I'd make the drive (about an hour and change one way) to the nearest facility if its showing there....

There's additional infomation on "Ghosts of the Abyss" at:
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0297144

James Cameron (guy who directed Titanic, as well as Terminator, T2, Abyss, Aliens, and True Lies) also did a show for Discovery Channel on the battleship Bismarck last fall. I thought the show was really good in how it went into more depth than Ballard did when he found the wreck. Cameron's brother develped new camera systems and an ROV to explore inside of wreck in HD.

New Titanic movie looks good and I've already heard it's using a new camera ROV system, developed by his brother, which is not only in IMAX but in 3d.

Given the facts that Cameron hasn't directed any major projects since Titanic and isn't doing Terminator 3 (due this summer); I'm hoping "Ghosts of Titanic" will be nothing short of incredible.

I do know

its only an IMAX show, its 3d and wont be realeased to regular theaters, IMAX screans only.

I will be at the Premere this Sunday in Universal City.
