For those of you who have not heard, we lost a long time Captain here in NC. Bobby Cox owner and operator of Diver Down Charters in Atlantic Beach, NC passed away last week of complications from a cancerous tumor. Captain Cox operated his boat here in the Morehead City area for over 20 years, after moving his operation from the Virginia Beach area. Bobby was in his early 60's, but he was still fit and strong as an ox. As with a lot of us, his record was not perfect, but given the number of trips he ran over the years it was pretty damn impressive. He is survived by his long time companion Brenda, an adult son, the crew of Diver Down and hundreds of loyal customers. His memorial service was this past Monday and the majority of Captains here in town were there to pay their respect. Diver Down was usually the 1st boat out of the inlet and 1st on the wreck. His information on the radio was a service to all. It will be strange this season without that VHF presence every day. He was not afraid of a bumpy sea, his mates called him "Hurricane Bobby" affectionately.

Fair winds and calm seas Captain!
