So, long story short, the dump valve on my OxyCheq Mach V Signature series broke this past weekend. While the dump valve OPV mechanism is okay, the dump valve base was broken (see accessories). I've got the replacement parts in my hand now, along with the BCD / Wing tools, but unfortunately OxyCheq's replacement directions are a bit vague for me. While I'm going to also try to reach OxyCheq directly for some help, I wanted to also post it here perchance another dive has experience with replacing the dump valve base part.

It looks as if the dump valve base actually has to fit inside the wing bladder, and well, when the diameter of the hole in the wing bladder is smaller than the diameter of the dump valve base, I'm at a loss. I don't want to cause further damage to it by stretching it until I know that is what I'm supposed to do.

Also, one of the dump valve base parts (there are three parts - a double gasket, a ring with threads on the outside and inside, and a base with a smaller ID boss with threads), specifically, the ring, is actually still threaded into the OPV and I have been unsuccessful in trying to get that out. I don't know if that's critical or not.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I had the same problem. Stretch the bladder to squeeze in that base with the thread end sticking out. Trust me, you're not going to hurt that bladder.

Are you replacing the entire assembly with new parts, or are you replacing only the broken piece? If you are not replacing every parts, you need to remove that small broken threaded end from inside the main dump base.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and yep, that's exactly what OxyCheq said. That, the bladder can be stretched just enough to slip the base with the threaded shoulder inside. I was only replacing the broken parts and had previously removed them. I also decided to take some photos of the process so that it may be helpful to others. I couldn't get verification from OxyCheq if my placement of the double-gasket was correct, but it made the most sense to me to prevent air leaks (if I am mistaken in any way, please let me know).

1) Clean all surfaces to remove dirt and oils.
2) Assemble the dump valve base and double-gasket shown in images 1 and 2.
3) Unzip the wing and gently pull out the bladder. Stretch the opening (I used the C-shaped tool) and insert the assembled base inside, making sure the threaded shoulder sticks outward. Very carefully pull out one-half of the gasket as shown in image 3. This should also securely hold the assembled base inside the bladder.
4) Put the bladder back in the BC and just as in step 2, very carefully pull out that same one-half of the gasket as shown in image 4.
5) Gently screw on the plastic ring (inner and outer right-hand threads) making sure the orientation is correct, as shown in image 5. The gasket ring should make a secure air seal against it.
6) Use the two tools to tighten the plastic ring around the threaded shoulder of the assembled base, as shown in image 6. Do not overtighten.
7) Gently thread the OPV onto the plastic ring and tie knots in the line for tactile feedback, as shown in image 7.

I'll be checking how well it holds air pressure over night and maybe even weigh it down in the bathtub to make sure I don't see any air leaks. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. :)
