Hi all,

Does anybody know where I can order a spare O-ring for my WP-DC90 case? It dawned on me that it would be good to have a spare for my travels.

Thanks!

Don't know it this will help, but at work we have O-ring kits that you can make your own rings. I have made five extra for my Farralon scooter, and they seem to work good. The O-ring material comes in as a single long peice and you cut it to the correct length with a razor blade. Then glue it together with a sort of super glue, then seal it for exposure to water. I think it is baught at a industrial supplys dealer, here we use Acklands Grainger or Century Sales. By the way they also handle all the O-rings that are used for regs and tanks.

You can contact Canon and purchase spare O-Rings.

Or size it and go to Mcmaster Carr on-line and buy them for about 10 cents on the dollar for the same o-ring. That's what we did for the Pt-015 Olympus housing.

O-rings are categorized by their fractional widths. However, their actual width varies slightly from their stated fractional widths. This table helps you determine actual width from a given fractional width or AS568A dash number.

Fractional Width: 1/32" 1/16" 3/32" 1/8" 3/16" 1/4"
Actual Width: 0.040" 0.070" 0.103" 0.139" 0.210" 0.275"
AS568A Dash Number: 001-002 003-055 102-178 201-284 309-395 404-475

After that, you need the inside and outside diameter (make a circle with the o-ring) and the material (black = buna normally and the colored ones are silicone). The Durometer will usually be around 70.
http://www.mcmaster.com/ and type o-ring in the search box.

For the PT-015 and package of 5 was $11.

Wouldn't you need an O-ring sizing gauge and sizing cone to figure this out?
