I was setting up my gear a few nights ago, and discovered that the internal bladder of my 1994-era Dive Rite wings needs to be replaced. One of the seams has failed. (It looks like the glue has become hardened and so no longer holds.)

I called DR and was told that replacement bladders are no longer being manufactured for these original wings, and that bladders for newer versions of their wings will not fit these originals.

Has any of you ScubaBoard members had this problem? Can I believe what I was told by DR? What did you do? Purchase a new DR BC?

Thanks

I'm sure if Dive rite had a bladder for your wing they'd sell it to you. I bought one from them for a 3 year-old venture wing once. They keep some bladders around for discontinued wings but yours is 14 years old so they've apparently run out. If it's a doubles wing, you can usually find several on ebay. The smaller singles wings are harder to find used, but I have seen some travel wings for $200 lately, which is a good deal.
