Is there anywhere to rent a U/W Camera? I do not want to shell out 1,400 dollars for a case for my Nikon D70.

Yes there are many places in the world to rent a wide variety of underwater imaging devices, but there are very few places to rent a housed dslr, and even fewer with a variety of lenses/ports.
Where will you be?
Reef Photo in Florida, I believe, hires out complete systems. Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros
There aren't a lot of places hiring dslr housings only so you may find you have to add shipping to/from where you are.
