Does anyone know if you can rent an underwater housing (and maybe DSLR) in Cozumel? And strobes?

I'm going there at the end of the month and have been looking at UW housings for my Nikon gear. Housing are REALLY expensive (more than the camera in some cases) so I was hoping there was a good outfit from whom I could just rent one from a quality, reputable place in Cozumel.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have never seen or heard of this happening in Cozumel.. If it is possible please post up.. Dont think it would be just because its a horrid business model.. Too many variables and those enclosures cost too much!

Sorry - finding a DSLR and/or housing to rent here is not an option. DSLR housings especially are very camera specific. Some shops rent small point and shoot or basic digital set-ups - but that's about the most you will find for rent here.

Who are you diving with?

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I figured it wasn't going to be too likely (though lensrentals.com does rent out a lighting setup).

I guess I'll just use my G11 for now.

I haven't picked a dive shop, though last year I dived with a shop that was right next to my hotel and I enjoyed it very much so I'll probably use them again. I forget the name, but it definitely wasn't one of the "prettier" dive shops that I've seen (though the boats, DMs/guides, and service were first rate).

Good luck I was there back in May and had issues with my strobe and went to 10 different shops looking for any parts to attach the fiber optic to the camera body and noone worked on/with cameras I was told that if thay (the shops) had problems they shipped the camera to the USA for repairs.
