Removing water in UW photography

Hi Guys have any of the smarter ones amongst us had a look at this video? I saw it on DP review UW photography section. It is interesting but wondering if it can be consistent or not. Also, do you think it will be useable for most of us?

I read the story somewhere and there was even a reference to a paper with formulas etc. I am not sure I like the results and for me even the goal is questionable. Why shouldn't an underwater photo look like an underwater photo?

However, most important, I'd be reluctant to swim back and forth for every shot
