Hi all,

has anyone ever removed the factory print from their dive slates? I have PADI DM slates, and I want to remove some of the markings on one to have a legible space to write on.

Varsol - no effect
Magic eraser - cleans the pencil marks perfectly

Some fine grit sandpaper could work, just try it out on a smal corner to make sure you don't ruin the whole thing.

You could also try an SOS pad (ultra-fine steel wool) or one of its generic equivalents.

Acetone. (found in fingernail polish remover)

What kind of print or marks? Alcohol works on ink. Acetone works on paint, but may eat away at the plastic. Sand paper or steel wool will scrape off thin layers. Magic eraser is mostly for pencil marks.

Lastly, wet-notes will erase your dive-slate from your life because of how much better they are than a dive-slate.

Underwater Notepad

Absolutely nothing, will take that stuff off, and produce a fine job except wet sandpaper with masking tape and a finger
