Try very gently to pop the rubber protector off of it and then slide it up the the hose. If you can do this then you will be able to remove it. Look for any unforseen mounting screws that may hold the console to the spg.

Wow it was easier than I thought. The back cover unscrews and then the SPG is just loose inside it. But the SPG is a piece of junk without the housing around it. Judging from it's look, it would break within 5 dives without the console around it.

bah.

As are most of the SPG that come in your off the shelf consoles...cheap plastic won't last long with out the protection of the console or a boot.

If you are going away from console mounted gauges, I highly recommend you look at a Diverite SPG I use 2' face SPG and love it because its easy to read at a glance and its marked in 100 psi increments. I originally purchased the model with the boot, but removed it. Diverite now offers "Naked" versions to save you a bit of time.

get a brass spg, tough as nails...(well not quite, but they'll take a lot more punishment than a plastic one..

I've got an OMS G-240-SM. It's very solid. It's another gauge that's intended to be used outside a rubber console.
