Hi,

I have be diagnose with type 1 diabetes and have recently seen a hyperbaric doctor and was found to be fit for diving and for caven & sinkhole course. However, when i mention that i maybe going for adv nitrox course in the near future, he caution that if i were to used higher % of O2 for decompession and the deeper i dive, it will have an effect of my blood glucose level. It is true?..... or did i misunderstood him?

There have been several abstracts done with diabetic hyperbaric oxygen therapy pts undergoing treatments (most seem to be 2 ATA for 2 hours - 100% O2). So, this would be my best guess as to his basis for comparison.

Very interesting information. Thanks for bringing the question up, and thanks again to Gene for the Rubicon Repository.
