After going through the waiting list, I still have a few slots left for the 20th NapaScuba Reg Tech Training Seminar, scheduled for 17, 18, 19 October, 2025. That's Friday evening for 3 hours, then all day Saturday and Sunday.
This seminar has been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere:
Regulator Technician Training - 2023
Suffice it to say, it's a 2 1/2 day intensive Zoom seminar for a small number of participants that teaches you how to service your own scuba gear, in many cases as well as or better than your local dive shop. The emphasis is balanced between theory and practical tips acquired over 30 years of regulator service. Over the past four years, we've helped over 200 divers, from Estonia to Australia, over the hurdle of opening up a reg for the first time.
Time is running short to acquire the necessary tools before October 17, so if you're interested, drop me an email at Napascuba@gmail.com and I'll deluge you with preparatory information.
Tuition is $350, and tool costs can be a couple hundred dollars more, so this is not for the faint of heart. There's a fair amount of prep work necessary on your part. And full disclosure: this is "knowledge only". It does not certify you to purchase service kits from anyone but Deep6, though aftermarket service kits are now commonly available.
But if you're geeking out over these simple devices, or maybe are just tired of average performance after a $250 service bill, this will enable you to service and tune your regs to perfection. More important, you'll now trust your gear's performance.
This is the first time I've opened the waiting list in over two years, so the remaining slots may fill quickly. If reg service has been something you wanted to be able to do, and you're moderately detail-oriented, give it a thought.
