What would be the better book to get for learning to repair my own regs, Vance Harlow's "Scuba Regulator Maintenance and repair" or the one put out by ScubaTools "Regulator Savvy"? What are the pro's and con's of each?
Thanks

Both are excellent, and worthy of a library. Harlow's is "down and dirty" while Reg-Savvy" is, shall I say, more "technical". Both are worth the investment.

I agree, both are the best option. I find RS to be much more technical as opposed to SRM&R which is more DIY. Between the too you get very good basis to build on.

Start witht the Harlow book, then "upgrade" (knowledge-wise) to the RS. Eventually, both have a place in your library.

While you wait for delivery, get the service manuals here. The older ones are written by the same Pete Wolfinger who wrote Regulator Savvy.

Edit
Forgot to mention the RS is very much Scubapro oriented, because Pete used to work for SP.

Harlow addresses many more helpful subjects than Wolfinger and will give you all you really need. But Wolfinger gives you a level of knowledge that is well into the how and why one reg works better than another. Start with Harlow and go from there.

Both books are in the mail, I have "dived" in head first to the dark side!
