Where are you and where will you do most of your diving?

can anyone tell me the ups and downs of the standard aqualung titan? I really appreciate it. BB1
I haven't seen to many opinions out there regarding the Titan, perhaps you could post in the equipment section, or do a search for it there. But for the time being, here is what the manufacturer has to say about it. http://www.aqualung.com/products/titan_lx.html

I only used one 2 times, both times as a rental before buying my own gear and based on that I decided against buying it, for me it did not breathe easily and it also breathed wet in several positions (mine not the reg ;-) My son also used it a few times, also as a rental, and he found the same problems. I went with a ScubaPro MK25/S600 and my son went a with Sherwood Blizzard. I am realy happy with the SP and my son is likewise with the Sherwood.

In that price range, the Titan is a very reliable reg. Most shops use them for their rental gear. You can buy it, use it and be happy for the rest of your life.

If you have the funds, you can try some other regs, usually in a higher price range, and the big difference will be the ability to ajdust the flow. On the more expensive regs that alow you to control the air flow, you can really tell the difference. On cheaper regs the difference is hardly noticable. # of HP/LP ports and their placement sometimes influence peoples purchases as well.

I have a Titan LX is sometimes use on single tank dives, but it's isn't my everyday reg.

Titan is a good workhorse reg, my whole family uses it...4 sets plus a spare never any problems

You can buy an okay reg now and buy a high-end reg later...

...or....

buy a high-end reg now.

Also, be sure to consider the support you will get from the manufacture and dealer concerning parts and service (Some, such as ScubaPro, offer free parts for life.). A lower sticker price is not always cheaper in the long run
