Is this 3300 psi absolute or is there a 10% overage margin as with tanks? I want to buy a hp100 steel but do not want to blow out my reg. Thanks

The issue you will have is putting stress on the yoke attachment. Convert to a DIN and the reg should be able to handle 3500psi without any problem.

you can also buy a stronger yoke if you are really dead set on diving yoke.... but i'd stick with din, it's the only way to dive. And it needs to become the standard everywhere.

You can get by with the yoke, but expect to blow out an o-ring occasionally. The Titan has a DIN conversion kit you can get and install yourself eventually.

Also, there is a good chance that the HP 100s you're looking at have a DIN insert in the valve. You won't need the adapter you're looking at. It converts the tank, not the reg, and it is just as easy to put on and take off.

I've seen the plugs in the din valve to allow a yoke reg to attach.

If I convert my reg to din, do I use the above linked adapter to hook up to a yoke tank?

There is absolutely no problem using this yoke for steel 3442 hp tanks. This has been discussed a number of times on this board. I dive with a number of yoke regs with my hp 3442 steel 100s and 80s and have never had a problem.

I'm also a bit irritated that these other posters are either answering in ignorance (don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about) or that they are just such "din" fans that they will tell anyone whatever so they will switch to din to validate themselves (this is also inexcusable):dork2:.

Yes, you'd need it if you go back and forth. Maybe you keep your al 80, or whatever you have, but dive the 100s still.

I'm just saying, if you get the hp tank, you don't necessarily have to convert your reg immediately. The plug will let you get by with what you have until you convert.
