Tomorrow I'm off to Barbados for some diving. I'm going to so the Rescue Diver course, but before I do that, I'd like to refresh what I learned from my open water course. does anyone know a link to a good website with FREE basic instructions that were covered by the OW course (even if it's just partial information)? e.g. how to read from a table, atm. pressure under the water, what to do in a current, underwater signals, etc.?

I think you'd be better off to get a course refresher, see if hte dive op your are getting rescue through will give it to you for free. (They might require you to prove to them you know what you are doing already before the course.)

Well, it's the same DS that I got my advanced through. But honestly, except for using a compass and learning not to be too excited while diving with a camera (I started moving and breathing too fast!), I didn't learn anything new.

Don't you still have the written materials from your OW course? That would be the quickest and cheapest way to review the material.

Trying to not sound like a smart alec but don't you think you waited til a little late to start trying to relearn you OW material? Do what TS&M suggest. Dig up your ow material.
