Reef Playacar in Mayan--> best place to dive?

Hi all

Just booked a cheap flight to Cancun and am staying in the Mayan Riviera at the Reef Playacar from April 22-28. Heard this was close to the ferry dock, going to Cozumel. I've had a hankering to dive since summer so I thought I'd give it a go.

To be quite honest, I am so sceptical to spend money to dive in Mexico as I feel it will be a huge dissapointment. I have fairly high expectations...

Should I dive out of dive shop in Mayan or take the ferry to Coz? (I don't even know if the Reef Playacar is as close to this dock as I've heard...)

What are the notable dive sites in this area?

I'm a ding dong... I should of just "searched" first. Found a few people to try out and have contacted them.

I was highly surprised with the diving around Playa del Carmen, I am sure that you are going to have a great time. Make sure to do some Cenote diving and at least one day in Cozumel. The ferry dock is only 10 minutes taxi ride from the Reef Club.
