BPW Triple Reactor -- Dual Calcium + Kalk
I have a custom built triple reactor from Blue Planet Waterworks (H2OEng from RC) that was custom manufactured for me to be able to use in a clients' system that never ended up being built.
This was specially designed as a space saving unit for under cabinet, thus allowing you to have the features of both a dual chamber Ca reactor and a Kalk reactor all in one unit.
This had never even been removed from it's bubble wrap and assembled, so I just put it together for the pics. You can see from the following pics that it's a very compact and streamlined unit, though is made from very heavy duty acrylic. The pumps are a QuietOne-1200 for the Ca side and a MaxiJet-600 for the Kalk side.
For anyone wanting to delve into the magical world of exotic LPS and SPS corals, but doesn't already have reactors, this would be a very inexpensive way in which to do it. All you would need in addition to this triple-reactor would be controllers and a CO2 tank & regulator, and I happen to have a couple of used Milwaukee 'pH' and 'Reversed pH' controllers on hand.
This setup is more than capable of sustaining any system from 29g on up to several hundred gallons!
