recovering custom avatars

Is there a way to get a copy of the original avatar sent to ScubaBoard?
I wanted to change things up and get a new avatar for a while but I am afraid of loosing the image I have right now. I no longer have the gif I summited to LadyDiver oh so long ago. I was thinking of doing a screen capture and crop it down but did not know if it would loose res.
