I know Cozumel has 2 chambers, and I think I've read that one is recommended over the other. Does anyone know which Chamber in Cozumel falls under this groups network?

It appears this is the chamber on Calle 5... It was my understanding they didn't accept DAN payments anyway - prior to this.

The SSI Chamber is the one on Calle 5 between the waterfront and Av. 10 as Jeff stated.

I recommend and use Dr. Piccolo. His chamber is at San Miguel Hospital on Calle 6 North between Av. 5 and Av. 10. He has been practicing hyperbaric medicine in Cozumel for over 20 years. His wife Heidi is an RN who has also been working in hyperbaric medicine for about 15 years.

Some of you may remember Chuck's story from last February...Dr. Piccolo treated him. Dr. Piccolo also treated me in 2002 when I suffered DCS. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My first trip to Cozumel I had to go see a a doctor at one if the chambers because my ear was bleeding after a dive. I just don't remember which one it was. It may have been Dr. Piccolo.

Let me chime in here. I am the Chuck that Christi mentioned in her post. I can not say enough about Dr. Piccolo and his beautiful wife Heidi. I was treated with the upmost professionalisum and the knew exactly what they were doing.

If I would have been in the states when my accideny happened I have no idea what would have happened to me but I really take a lot of comfort, diving again in Cozumel, just in the fact that I know Dr. Piccolo is there.

No question he is the best and I will stop by and say hello everytime I am in Cozumel probably for the rest of my life, Which by the way I owe to Christi and Dr. Piccolo by the way.

I was also treated for DCS by Dr. Piccolo. He and Heidi are the best. Can't say enough good things about them.

Hehe! The three poster children for DCS in Cozumel :) I guess I didn't realize you went to Piccolo too :) See, we're all beter now ;)

If you have any dive related medical issue, go to Dr Piccolo. I had what we initially thought could have been something serious and ended up being a bad frontal sinus squeeze. It was extremely painful and I couldn't dive for a couple days, but nothing serious. I could have been in and out in about 20 minutes but instead, he asked lots of questions and determined exactly why it happened in the first place, showed me several nasty photos of what my sinus could have ended up looking like, gave me a friendly lecture about how and when to use and not use allergy meds when diving, and then called us a taxi and asked the driver to stop at the pharmacy so I could get the perscription filled.

He also runs a chamber in Playa del Carmen, but I'm not sure what office hours he keeps there.
