Hi, I have a company trip to a Iberostar Resort Jaio in May and was thinking about getting a few dives in. There is a Dressel Dive shop next to our resort. Are the dives in this area decent? Which are the best?
Thanks!

We have been to the Riviera Maya 8 times and I have never done one ocean dive. You can dive pretty reefs anywhere, but you can only dive in the Cenotes in the Mayan. I always dive with Nicolas from Cenote Xperience. They also do ocean dives and dives over to Cozumel if you prefer that.

Thanks, Yes we have done the Cenotes many times and Cozumel 20+ trips. Just looking for something easy and to get away from my work people for a few hours each day!

After over 150 dives in past 3 years this reef was the BEST I have been on !!! Sure it was my birthday but maybe you will have the same experience I did going back in first week of June

there is not much of a reef since a long time in MR maybe few years back like 15-20 years but not anymore cause of hurricane and coral bleaching. Most of it is sand. Lower your expectations on wild life in general.

Cheers

BEST diving I have had in over 3 years actually saw schools of fish

YMMV. I have been diving for years with the Tank Ha folks in playa and always have a great experience. Although the colors are brighter across the passage in Cozumel, there are some cool dive sites off the coast of playa. Pared Verde and its extension Moc Che deep are among my favorites. Punta Venado is a nice drift dive on south end. the cenotes are like entering another world as many have already commented.
