Recommendations for diving in Panama

That's the same Portobelo, and it's on the Atlantic/Caribbean side. Panama city is in the Pacific side. At least it's good to know you got good transportation from Scubapanama.

Ha, no problem. Just curious, so they pick you up from hotel in Panama city, and drive 2+hr to diving, and drive you back. That makes for a very long day. Hope their boat/gears are fine.

Viz on the Caribbean side can definitely be variable. Most ops in Panama are terrible. One op, in Portobello, however is outstanding! Check out Golden Frog Scuba. These folks are awesome, and responsive. I've been working in Panama for nearly 20 years. We dive with Golden Frog and they are consistently reliable.
