Hey Guys,

My Finace is a newbie to underwater photography and he intends to get an entry level camera.....that is good enough to capture marine life whilst diving....

Recently his friend recommend him the Canon Ixus 120 IS, with underwater housing for SGD 700 ++.

Do you guys think this is a good deal ..? we dont really need the camera urgently....perhaps just before our diving trip nxt yr in March 2010...

Any other recommendations for good entry level digital cameras for underwater photography?

Thanks! ;)

Canon G10 or G11 with Canon Case would be my first choice. Some folks are drooling over the Canon S90, which is smaller, but offers a "faster" lens.

The problem with entry level cameras is that you really need a strobe for most underwater photography. You can easily spend $700 on a strobe and tray/arm system for a camera.
