Planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas for the first time. I will be there early May and want to do some local dives (Marine park + Corridor), Gordon Banks and Cabo Pulmo. Been researching for dive shops and now down to 2 shops; Dive Cabo and Manta Dive. I was also considering Seecreatures but they have never responded to my email. So it was hard to gather more info.
I see some commends and trip reports on both Dive Cabo and Manta Dive but still if you can share more experience here, it would be super helpful!
My findings and questions:
Any additional comments are very welcome too! Thank you!!
I see some commends and trip reports on both Dive Cabo and Manta Dive but still if you can share more experience here, it would be super helpful!
My findings and questions:
- Dive Cabo has a cheaper price for both dive trips and rental gear than Manta Dive => What are the differences between these two dive shops that defer difference in prices? Does Manta Dive use better/bigger boats or better quality rental equipment?
- For Gordon banks, Dive Cabo leaves from their sister shop in San Jose and dive with air vs Manta dive leaves from CSL so longer time on the boat but dive with Nitrox. I would prefer Nitrox dive but unsure about the longer journey on the boat (probably rough sea?). => How is the boat ride to Gordon banks like? Is it worth using Nitrox proving that we can stay deeper longer? Or air dive is ok? Dive Cabo mentioned that they didn't do Nitrox for Gordon Banks to avoid Oxygen toxicity.
- Cabo Pulmo dive in May => Question: Cabo Dive said CP in May is not a good. I saw great reviews on this forum about CP and would love to dive there but is it worth going for a day trip in May?
Any additional comments are very welcome too! Thank you!!
