Hello! I am quite new to diving, only 167 dives, lack of current diving experience and no cold water diving. I am planning a trip to the Galapagos next month but reluctant to book a liveabord knowing that I don't have much diving experience.

Has anyone done the day trip from one of the island i.e. from Santa Cruz or San Cristobol? Are they any good? Any recommendation for dive operators in the Galapagos?

Thank you!

We dove for three days with Planet Ocean, on San Cristobal. We did a deep cave dive, a night dive, a couple of dives at Leon Dormido (Kicker Rock), and two dives off Isla Española. Planet Ocean did a great job for us, the guides were fine, and it was a satisfying experience.

Hi, I dove with Academy Bay Diving in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island. They run a great operation, are very professional, and have an excellent boat. This is an important point because the good dive sites are not close to Puerto Ayora. Their service also includes lunch on the boat after the dive, as you leave early in the morning and return to town around 2pm
I used my own equipment but their was good enough for me (in fact one day before my return i used theirs to allow mine to dry)
