No, but if you do not dive regularly it is a good idea to do a refresher now and then to stay sharp. Skills deteriorate quickly if not practiced. Just look around on your next trip. The once a year vacation divers are easy to spot. Makes it easy to stay away from them though!
 
It's worth bearing in mind that many resort type shops will require a refresher of some sort oif you have been out of the water for a certain length of time (it varies)

As Jim said, it's a damn good idea anyway.
