Hello,

My wife and I just moved from Guam to Iwakuni. We plan to take a trip to Okinawa soon for a week of diving, and will hook up with Reef Encounters (they rent doubles) when the time comes. I'm in Okinawa right now waiting for the typhoon to pass, my dive gear is still in transit so I didn't do any diving for the few days that I was here.

As for Iwakuni, there's a dive shop on base but I think the scuba program is sort of dormant at the moment. They couldn't provide any information on local dive spots, or where to get Nitrox fills.

I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction for some shore dive sites around Iwakuni as well as any good dive operators. Also, any idea where to get Nitrox fills. I'll continue browsing through the threads here for any information in the mean time.

If anyone around Iwakuni would like to get together for diving my wife and I are interested. We have all of our own gear, including double tanks and deco tanks. We're Advanced Nitrox/Decompression procedures certified if anyone in the area is doing that sort of diving.

Thanks for any help or good information.

-Mitch
