Hi All,

Taking a total shot in the dark here, but if you recently left LCBR, I ask that you please take a minute to kindly check your wetsuits. My wife's suit went missing from the main drying room on either Saturday or Sunday. It's a 5mm Henderson Thermoprene, size 12, manufactured in 2015. The back zip cord has two knots at the bottom of it. Please message me if you might have accidentally grabbed it on your way out the door.

thanks,
RCB

Oh dear, I hope she gets it back! This is long shot but the last time we were at CBBR a diver on our boat searched and searched and couldn't find his wet suit. The divemasters asked all the other divers on all the boats to check and make sure they hadn't taken the wrong suit by mistake but nobody had it.

He had to use a borrowed suit from the dive op but happily he found his own wetsuit later that day. He hadn't noticed that one (or both?) of the legs were folded up when he hung it up to dry. He had actually seen his suit when searching the drying room but thought it was a shorty and passed it by - so look again just in case it's inside out or folded or something. Good luck!

Thanks, Kathy. Everyone at LCBR was, of course, great about trying to help. At this point we're all but certain it was a case of mistaken identity. Someone appears to have left behind a 5mm Henderson mens suit, size XL. Hopefully they'll contact the shop when they find a bit more room in the hips of "their" suit...Hehe.

It does happen. Eric picked up someone else’s wetsuit during a trip to Bonaire. Identical except it was a tall. Fortunately we were just two doors down, found the mistake immediately and was able to return it to the owner. And get his. :)

Same thing happened to me years ago on my last day at Cocoview in Roatan. That is why I now use puff paint and paint my name on the inside and out of all my wetsuits so that no matter which way it's turned my name is visible. I get stares and remarks on the boats but I haven't lost one since.

Luckily for me, my wetsuit showed up at the last minute before leaving the resort. At lunchtime right before departure I held up the one left behind on the drying racks that was 3 sizes bigger than mine and made a heartfelt plea for everyone that had a wetsuit that looked like the one I was holding to please check their packed wetsuits.

That's fantastic -- thanks for the share. We'll be "following suit" going forward (sorry, couldn't resist...).

FWIW, the loss ended up being covered by our trip insurance, which we bought through Travel Insured. All we had to provide was a letter from the Reef Divers at LCBR stating what had happened. They were super fast in providing this after we requested through Reef FantaSeas (no surprises there!).
