I completed my PADI open water course in the middle of July, and was wondering how long it is until you get your actual card. Thanks in advance, Jesse.

My first one took over 2 months. I don't think being in Canada speeds it up any ;)

Given that I dive out of the same show thought, I've never had to show a c-card yet. FWIW, the other cards that I have came a bit faster than the first one.

Remember that your temp card should be good for 3 month.

BTW, congrats on your OW :)

PADI is currently behind on processing and sending out c-cards. My students from June have just now received their cards. Some are still waiting. If you are concerned, you can call PADI or contact your dive store or instructor.

It will take some time no matter which agency. Your temp card should work fine for the time being. Congrats on your certification by the way and have fun diving.

Must have only to do with the initial certification?

I had one of my original cards (remember the ones where they actually laminated a photograph onto a card? :shakehead ) from the 80's replaced because it had become waterlogged and the photo was separating (that, and I wanted a more current picture and I wanted to contribute to Project Aware).

This was Last Month (July).

It took only ten calendar days to get my replacement, and I live on the opposite coast. That includes mail time (First Class, not expedited).

Receiving initial cards always takes a little while. When I worked at my shop, it sometimes took 3wks to 6wks. Congrats on the new certification!

No wonder the temp card is valid for 90 days! And, Yes, I am so glad I finally got certified. Really wish I had done it earlier. Now Im in the process of finding buddies ( I live 7 hours away from "my" not-so-local dive store) and buying gear. But, I have a dive trip planned for Vancouver BC in september.

i thought my padi temp card was good for 30 days? im still waiting on my card to come in.

I have received all of my C-Cards in less than 30 days and that's with me in North Carolina and PADI in California.
