Hi all - can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, decent hotel, B&B, or anything else in St. Thomas around the weekend of January 11th? We need space for 4 adults, so 2 hotel rooms or a 2 room suite.

Also, while you're reading this, how's the diving there, and what else is there to do for non divers?

Thanks, trig

(I'm copying this from the sub-forum because I'm kind of in a hurry to get some responses. thanks)

If you ask my wife what there is to do there, she'd say duty free shopping for jewelry. I can't say that it's a good place for spring break. Charlotte Amalie and Red hook are the only two places we hung out at when it came to going out for dinner at night. During the day, we caught the ferry to St Johns or we went to Coki Beach so she can tan while I shore dive. We hit different beaches.

I did a few boat dives with Admiralty Dive Shop in Charlotte Amalie.(I think they're at the Holiday Inn Hotel) I think of St Thomas as more of an island to go and relax in.

Don't know what to recommend as far as hotels. We stay at our timeshare when we go. But it's not on a beach so I wouldn't recommend it anyway. I'm staying at Megan's Bay in July to see how much better that is.

We go to St Thomas alot. We stay at Danish Chalet Inn . Very nice accommodations. Personalize service. Frank & Mary are the owners. They are from New York but have run the Inn for years. Frank told me once, they came for a visit and fell in love. He sent Mary back home while he set up shop. Welcome to The Danish Chalet Inn
If you stay, tell them Ray & Becky said hi from Texas.

Dutchman - thanks for the info. I looked into that place. The links and phone numbers on the website you posted don't work. When I called the phone number I found in Frommers it was answered by the Palms Court Harbor Hotel. Both places have some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Do you know what the story is?
