This most certainly is an interesting read.
I've often been bemused reading the raging debates going on in photographic forums and what constitutes 'manipulation' in the digital era.
This is often accompanied with the assumption that with film one had to be better at the 'art' of photography to capture great images.
I honestly don't think this is so, the basics of photography apply in whichever medium you use.
The only difference is that with one the darkroom is a physical darkroom and in the other it's confined mainly to a PC.
The very act of capturing an image is 'manipulation' in some sense.
I'm constantly reminded everytime I look through my viewfinder that what the camera captures is
nothing like what my eyes see.
I could go on and on from a biological perspective about how exquisitely designed our eyes are and how important certain colours were to our ancestors in the savannahs of Africa but I digress.
