I come to ask opinions.. there are two cases available for similar prices online for a Canon SD1100. I'm looking into a case because the family already owns the camera.

1) is there a reason NOT to invest in a case for this camera (will it do a decent job underwater)
2) fsd-770 vs wp-dc22. Cannon's brand or Fantasea? I have never heard of fantasea.. do they make good cases?

Any advice would be very helpful, and thanks!

It's a nice little camera that takes surprisingly nice shots.

The Fantasea FSD-770 is new, but uses a proven design. It has a depth rating of 200', metal controls and latches and overall is a more rugged case than the Canon. It also has a port design that is extensible and allows use of red filters, macro and wide angle lenses.

All Fantasea housings comed with 1 year of DEPP flood insurance that will buy you a new camera if there's a "whoops"!

Email me if you have further questions.

Hey Jack,

Do you happen to have an opinion between the fantasea and the Ikelite 6147.10? I am in the same boat (wish it were a dive boat) and have the camera already. I have been considering getting the Ikelite housing just due to their reputation.

Do you have any thoughts?
