Ok, as long winded as I can be (self-admitted), I will try to keep this somewhat short.
This is a re-introduction post. I posted this on the Texas Swamp Divers forums and then realized (duh) that some potential dive buddies both inside Texas and out simply do not read that particular forum.
I'm looking for two specific types of buddies:
(For all the long-time, experienced yet fun divers, skip the numbers and read the ending paragraphs....lol).
(I know there are also a lot of lurkers that do not post.....please feel free to PM me).
I am searching for a specific buddy that is:
1. New to diving or just getting back to diving after a layoff.
2. Wanting to progress at a steady pace toward the technical side of diving, i.e. adv nitrox/deco procedures, extended range, trimix (levels), wreck penetration and cave diving.
3. Adamant about safety and dive research; however, not overly anal (read: not fun and enthusiastic), while maintaining safety.
So here's the deal: as posted in my intro thread, I will have my wife and kids as dive buddies; however, my wife has no real interest in any aspect of tech diving and my kids won't be ready for years, and I won't push them if they do not show interest when they make the required age.
However, I'm just one of those weirdos that wants to progress to the tech world. Once again, I'm not just going to go gung-ho and jump off into training without acquiring knowledge and logging dives. That said, I would love to find a buddy that wants to walk down this same path.

For all my experienced and fun loving, safe future friends and dive buddies:
I look forward to joining you as I proceed around the various lakes and quarries of TX/OK. I would love to dive with you and learn from you. I know I can learn from anyone willing to help. So if you are willing to deal with a newbie and constructively point out some things you think I need to work on, by all means let me dive with you.
In the end I still preach my mantra, safe and fun with a little knowledge to go alongside.
And, yes, I will be "bumping" this thread to the top myself if no one responds....not to annoy anyone, but to make sure it stays on the first page in case my future dive buddy doesn't read everyday. Please be forgiving if this annoys you.
Take care all and God Bless!
