I'm new to diving and now that warm weather is approching, am very excited to start learning. I bought my books read through the first chapter and will start classes next weekend. After a search of all the shops in my area, I chose this LDS not only on the knowledge of the instructors and staff, (that I feel comfortable with) but they offer courses that let you take your time. I can make up my own hours, take as much time as I need until "I" feel comfortable with my skills and they encourage this. I have been there several times and spoke with the staff and other divers in the shop. I have always felt very welcomed and everyone is eager with advise and help.

There are still dive shops that offer the quality not quantity classes, I just had to take my time and look. Just wanted to share my finding and put in a possitive note.

The dive community seems to have a comradery that I have experienced in few professions/hobbies and look forward to being a part of that. This site has helped me with questions and making important decision. Thank you all for your help and making me feel welcome. :blinking:

Welcome to Scubaboard and to diving!.....I also think that the community here is great!

I am also a newb and recently certified. Going on a month long dive vacation to gain experience, further education and have fun!
This forum has provided me with so much information and I have learned many many things from it that would have taken years to pick up.

Nothing beats going out diving though!
