I'm a Fish!
I was just wondering if there is any reason to avoid dyeing your chlorine faded BCD?

I'm not interested in dyeing the whole unit, just the trim that has gone from a brownish to an ugly poop brown. I was planning on painting the dye on with a small paint brush.

Can't see what it would hurt. I have painted areas of the kid's BCD, especially the hard back plate, that have become faded from pool use. No problem. I can't see how it could hurt anything, if you can get dye to take on the material. Good luck.
