RCI in Bonaire

Has anyone tried to book a room using RCI? I bought a membership several years ago, before I started diving. But now the places I want to dive don't seem to have any rooms available through RCI.

I've had the same experiences through RCI. To exchange your points for someplace you want to go, I have more success if I'm flexible with dates, flexible with locations, and constantly keep re-checking. I've noticed the most new openings around the second or third of the month. Best times to book are 12 months in advance, or 3-5 months in advance. Use the geographic searches too instead of trying to search for an exact place.

I've never used RCI points in Bonaire, but I noticed there are some places you can use them. I would be curious to hear from anyone who has used them in Bonaire as well.

Tried for YEARS and never happened..RCI lists Buddy resort (Lions Inn which is now a part of Buddies was a RCI property)..also Wind Sock and DIVI Flamingo..We have had a property on Key West=the Galleon- for years and tried to exchange a week there for one on Bonaire for years now and its " never available". We are now using a week that we banked on a trip to Cozumel at the El Cid la cieba for Feburary. Very disappointed in RCI about this issue.

RCI has had only one exchange that I wanted to go to and that was in Cozumel (Melia). It wasn't that bad but you could not get the Cozumel "feel" from there. I will never do that again. I now give my kids all my timeshares and I go where the diving is the best! I can't wait to get rid of them!!!

That tough to reply to that one!! All though I do LOVE my kids!!!

I even tried to book a room in Belize a few years ago. I tried for about 4 or 5 months. Even called every month. Ended up booking a room on my own.

It does happen on rare occasion. I have known of 2 friends who got trades to Bonaire over the years but one had been trying for years before it came up, the other got plain lucky. One was at Buddy 4 or 5 years ago and the other was at Divi in 09.
The best chance you have is to be willing to take any week at all on short notice.
