Hello, I went on a dive this morning and at about 55 feet I saw a couple of little Rays.... I didnt know we had rays in the puget sound... Can anyone tell me the name of this ray or anything about this.... It was brown and almost looked leopard spotted with bigger spots thea n a leopard.... Also the brown was the same color as a brownish sand. It was about 9 inches, shaped like a ray and had the tail out the back.... I would love anyones input.... Thanks!!!

Maybe Skate or Flounder?

No Rays in the Sound but it sounds like a Longnose Skate.

Did it look like this ???

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

No bob it didnt look like that.... not such a long beak..... It was gorgeous whatever it was... Maybe it was just a skate but I wish I had a camera to take a picture of it!! It was amazing! I was diving at Mukilteo by the T Docks.....

This is another angle where the nose isn't quite as pronounced. They also are sometimes seen with a white leopard spotted coloration which is why I think it's a Longnose Skate. Otherwise I would say it's a Big Skate which is the second picture.
