I have dial-up and would like to know if there is an option on Scubaboard to turn off this new feature. Though I greatly enjoy the photos, they slow down the loading of the whole page.

You can turn off the gallery template by going to http://www.scubaboard.com/profile.php?do=editoptions and scrolling to the very bottom of the page. Change the Forum Skin option to "ScubaBoard No Gallery" and you will no longer see the image box or gallery post links.
