Raja Ampat - Wire transfer for payment?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Raja Ampat and the dive resorts we have inquired about only except wire transfer for payment. no credit cards or pay pal.

Has anyone encounter this before when traveling to RA or somewhere else?

this happened for my trip to komodo. us banks do not like handling cc transactions from indo due to high fraud concern. paypal fees are quite high is why it is not usually accepted either. look into transferwise.

It's not uncommon in that part of the world.

yes it's not uncommon to do wire transfer.
Just did one today for a trip to the Phillipines and have done a few for trips to Indonesia.

Wire transfer is our preferred mode of payment while in SE Asia.
