We have an upcoming trip to Cancun next week and the forecast for next 10 days has potential thunderstorms over the weekend and chance of showers for several days after that. Is there a water warning after a rain that prevents diving? In California there is usually a 3 day water warning against diving due to run off but there is no restrictions if you go to Catalina Island nearby. Thanks.

We did a few dives there during some major downpours. Unless there's a severe storm going on, you should be fine.

Good thing the wetsuit is waterproof! I gues it can double as a rain jacket! Thanks.

That sounds like the standard weather forecast down there. It shouldn't pose a problem.

You have no idea how right you are about that. My wife had to sit out one dive during one such downpours (bad stomach) and stayed on the boat. Afterwards she told me that she had been quite miserable on the boat and regretted not coming along on the dive, lol
