I will post a daily question from my exams to help newer divers and to encourage more experienced divers to interact gracefully and helpfully with the newer divers.

Reminder - this is a post in the Basic Forum and it is a green zone. Please be nice and on topic.

Thank you for your patience while we try to give people something to discuss other than Covid-19 and/or Politics. I will post the answer covered by the spoiler tag later today.

Is it possible, Pedro, that you finally found a question we can’t over-analyze?

Well technically i could also happen at depth... not just while ascending or descending... for instance an ear drum can rupture after you level off if you have really bad squeeze and it just needs a little bit of time to tear..

:poke:

Any evidence for this slow motion tear, or are you just making this up? And, isn't the squeeze caused by an ascent?

no evidence but it would make sense... i know muscles can sometimes lift a weight but if they need to hold it they can tear over time...
Also I would imagine a sharp temperature change like taking off a hood or something Similar could cause the ear drum Trauma if it was stretched severely.

Honestly i was just trying to poke the bear. But i do think it COULD happen.
