I'll be going to Allegro Cozumel this April with my LDS, this will be my first trip on my own (both in the sense of going by myself and hasn't been planned by a family member). The trip pamphlet says "Taxes, and hotel gratuities included " So I was wondering if it is still customary to tip the people at the resort or not?

I've worked in the tourism industry before and and tipping wasn't a thing where I worked. I suppose it is a pretty basic question whether or not it would still be expected?

I've been to resorts where tipping and gratuities were included I still tipped some would accept some would but I always offered I also got better service because of this

I used to own a timeshare there, and tipping is NOT expected. However, dropping some pesos for extra service is never a bad thing.

Wind and waves may rock the boat, but only YOU can tip the crew.

$5/tank is pretty customary on day boats and liveaboards. I don't buy the "it's all included" line. That's a sales pitch to get you to think it's cheaper than it is. You can bet the crew won't see anything additional.

Yea for sure! It is always appreciated! I'll be bringing some cash to do so whether or not it is expected, but I want to know so I can determine how much to bring, I'll be using plastic for the rest of the trip... its more secure.

And it is just the resort that it is included, the boat is extra, I knew that ahead of time, thanks for the figures though! I have heard that around 5-10 is the average per tank.

To be CLEAR: I was writing of the Allegro resort only, not the boat.

As for the boat and crew - I was told $5 per tank 16 years ago when I started diving. Consider $7 to $8 per tank.
