I had a Cobalt 1 that I had put a few years and ~150 or so dives on, it was initially on the recall check list, and when I had taken it to my LDS to check they took a look said it was fine; but just recently (thankfully just AFTER ending a ~110 ft dive) it decided to pop and the face split apart from the casing and by that evening the computer itself quit working... I was worried as it had been some time since the recall, and I also wondered if it was actually a recall issue or if I was going to be hassled for some sort of negligence on my part maintenance and care wise (I take care of my gear, but it wasn't exactly new looking anymore)... I took it back to my LDS, they did the paperwork, and I hand delivered it to the Costa Mesa repair facility (unknowingly) almost 30 minutes after their 4:00pm closing, but when I knocked someone came to the door and was kind enough to take it in for me anyways; roughly 10 days later my return package arrived at the LDS, and much to my glee the unit was covered and no charges were attached, but also to my SURPRISE they replaced it with a shiny new Cobalt 2, completely unexpected and very above and beyond on their part!
I've been consistently pleased with my Atomic products through the years (my old beat up looking B1 still works like it did the first day I purchased, my Cobalt has done everything I've asked of it, and my recent Atomic blade fins I purchased sight unseen when they first arrived because I loved the fit and quality of my old wore out SotW's that I knew these would fit my wide foot comfortably and do their job well), but now, and even more importantly, I really appreciate that they truly support and stand by their product when things do go awry.
Many thanks and big props to everyone at Atomic, your products are consistently great, and your support is top notch!
