I have looked back over the past 20 pages of posts as well as in the UW photography guide. I am using an S90 in a Canon case without a strobe, heading to Fiji in about 12 hours. I see suggestions to shoot in RAW, which I understand (barely) but I see many other suggestions about the basic camera settings.

Can anyone offer me a starting point on how to set up the camera using only the built in flash, thank.s

Just put it in Program and the underwater balance setting. You don't understand RAW which means you don't know what to do with it and 12 hours is not enough time to understand it and you don't have a strobe or lenses or housing that can make advantage of advanced capability so just keep it simple and have fun.

Try to shoot as close as possible to take advantage of whatever little strobe you have. Like a foot or two maximum. Try some macro, shoot a few video clips which may work without a light and maybe try the Av mode and experiment with different f stops and also play around with setting the exposure above or below (the +/-) adjustment.
