My name is John Leland and I'm a reporter at the New York Times. Please forgive the intrusion. After the accidents at the Norness and Andrea Doria wrecks, I'm looking to talk to technical divers from the New York area who can help me (and readers) understand the risks and rewards of the sport. I am not interested in sensationalizing the dives, but to get a sense of the mindset of some divers. And of course I would be eager to hear from anyone who knew people on either of those dives. My email address is leland@nytimes.com. Thank you in advance, and condolences to friends of Dr. Barrow and Mr. LaPrade and the diving community.
